EASA Modular CPL
This course is for pilots who have passed the EASA written exams at ATPL or CPL level and need to convert their PPL into a commercial licence.
To start a modular CPL course you will need to have a minimum of 150 hours flight time as pilot, meet the requirements or hold a night rating, if not then this will form part of the course.
The Flying Course:
We offer a friendly and informal but thorough CPL course on either a 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 basis. The instructor is yours for the duration of the course, as are P28A and P28R. We will do our utmost to fit in with your time-scale and training needs, and will arrange the test date to suit. The course itself consists of a minimum of 25 hours dual instruction, 20 on the P28A Warrior and 5 on the P28R Arrow to prepare the student for the CPL Skills Test which is taken on the Arrow.
When you apply for the EASA FCL CPL (A) licence you must have:-
Completed at least 200 hours of flight time of which not less than 100 hours shall be PIC, of which at least 20 hours must be cross-country or overseas flying, including a route of at least 300nm in the course of which the aeroplane landed and carried out full stop landings at two intermediate and different aerodromes.
You will see from the above that although you only need 150 hours to start the course, you need 200 before you can take your skills test. As the course and test will come to about 27 hours we strongly advise that you do not start the course until you have 175 hours.
The anticipated length of the course is 4 weeks, but this is entirely dependent on weather.
Exeter International Airport has all the facilities expected of International passenger airports and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the UK.
