Have you ever wondered what it takes to become a pilot? Have you ever wanted to experience first-hand what is involved in flying an aircraft? Are you stuck for ideas for a birthday present or a different gift? If you have answered yes, then an introductory lesson is the first place to start. We have options available from 30, 45, and 60 minutes. Book an introductory lesson for that special person.
You will meet with your flight instructor, where you will receive a pre-flight briefing covering the key elements of your flight, together with a safety briefing. Once you take-off, you will be listening for those magic words “You have control”, at which point you are in control of the aircraft. You will be taught how to use the aircraft’s basic controls.
Should you decide to carry on with training for your Private Pilot’s Licence, the introductory lesson will be credited towards the required course hours.
The most variable British issue! We need good visibility for you to get maximum benefit from your flight, whilst on a clear, bright day, strong winds can cause turbulence in the
lower layers. Please ring us about an hour before your lesson, to make sure that the weather is suitable for your flight.
On arrival, turn right and park in the short stay carpark (P1), Aviation South West is directly opposite. You and any additional passengers will be asked to sign a temporary membership form to cover your flight.
If you are over 13 stone (182lbs), it is not possible to take you in a 2 seater aircraft, and we will willingly upgrade you to a 4 seater at an additional charge. Our maximum weight limit for a 4 seater is 30 stone (420lbs) passenger total. There is a £5 surcharge per spectating passenger.
