Introduction
An ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence) is the professional qualification for a pilot to be able to fly as pilot-in-command (PIC) and to carry passengers for commercial air transport. To obtain an ATPL you must have first held a Commercial Pilot Licence with ATPL Theoretical Knowledge course and passes in all 13 examinations or 26 if dual. For this you must undergo an approved course with an approved training organisation such as ourselves. Aviation South West are approved by the UK CAA and Transport Malta (EASA).
Pre-Requisites
Before starting this course we require:
Electronic Device (Apple or Android)
ICAO Level 4 or higher
Hold a valid ICAO PPL licence (at least passed the PPL skills test)
Complete a maths and physics assessment (included in this course)
The Course
The approved course has minimum set requirements as set out by law but may require going beyond these to meet standards to safely pass the course. The minimum course criteria to be issued with a course completion certificate are
650 hours ground tuition covering the 13 subjects over 3 modules, including
Passed all progress tests
Passed the end of course individual subject assessments
Meet the requirements for KSA100
Module 1 – Principles of Flight, Mass & Balance, Meteorology, Human Performance & Limitations, Communications
Module 2 – General Navigation, Radio Navigation, Flight Planning and Monitoring, Performance, Air Law
Module 3 – AGK – Airframes, Systems, Electrics and Power Plant, AGK – Instruments, Operational Procedures
